Asha Tea House

A few steps up from Eastwind Books was Asha Tea House...

I'd read about it from Jinxi's post (linked at the end)...

and was curious not to try their tea, but another seemingly random offering here...

which happened to be a Portuguese egg tart (or a pastel de nata).

Of course, many kinds of teas are offered here. Not being a tea fan at all, I didn't get any drinks. I was "saving myself" for some iced coffee at another place...

The decor was very hipster here. Pretty but kind of sterile.

TC ordered an iced milk tea with boba.

I tried a sip of her and didn't really like the flavor combo at all. I know lots of people love it but not me...

It was a nice refreshing drink for such a warm day.

Unfortunately, the main reason we went here was no longer. We were informed by the gal at the counter that Asha Tea House stopped selling the Portuguese egg tarts. The lady (an older Portuguese woman) who made them on the side for the tea house, no longer felt like making them, so therefore, NEIN! NADA! NYET! KAPUT!  I was a tad bit disappointed but I had Plan B and C in my nefarious head for dessert later that day anyways.

Who else went to Asha Tea House?
Jinxi's post from June 2013 is what prompted me to pay this place a visit...

Up next, our coffees...we would make the short stroll of a few blocks up north on Shattuck and make our return to the "Gourmet Ghetto"
