The day after our return was spent just relaxing at home but that Friday I was antsy and wanted to explore some places with the everpatient TC.
Our first stop was near the corner of Park and University at a coffee shop we hadn't heard of before...

which was a tiny shack called Industrial Grind Coffee....
The Sonya of London shop next to it used to be a higher end vintage store called "Wear it Again Sam" before it moved to Hillcrest (the shop is now defunct)...The construction in the middle of the street is going to be a bus lane, according to the lady working at the coffee place.

There were a few tables facing the street...

as well as a small table in the middle and another seating area out in the back patio.

Note, if you ever go here, they have a clean bathroom in the back!
Our two drinks - my iced mocha and a red velvet iced coffee. I wasn't sure if TC would like this. For the record, she did not. The coffee, although it was sweet, was too bitter for her liking. We would end up saving it for Bert later.

The wooden benches in the back patio were quite nice...

I liked my iced mocha which was pretty sweet and milky.

TC's (which kind of became my drink) red velvet coffee was also quite sweet but artificial tasting.

I'll have to come here again with Bert so we can try out some of their other drinks. My coffee repertoire is pretty limited, if you haven't noticed - relegating myself to just iced coffees or mochas. The gals working here were really friendly. The vibe was very relaxed and not pretentious at all.

Industrial Grind was just a short walk from a bridge you've probably driven under...a bridge that I was curious to explore, which is what we did next!
