A Delight of France

What we liked about downtown Escondido was the free parking!

Well, up to two hours at least, but hey, at least we didn't have to fiddle with any change for meters...

Although we were set to go straight to the California Center for the Arts after our breakfast at Belen, I saw another place on our Garmin that ended up being our next stop...

We'd never been to this part of Escondido before. Grand Avenue has that old time downtown feel, with lots of shops and eateries...

A Delight of France is a French bistro in the heart of downtown Escondido.

If we hadn't eaten at Belen, this would have made a nice first stop. However, desserts were on my mind.

We thought this was a nice touch, although I didn't see anything in Tagalog on here.

Aah yeah, there they are...the desserts and pastries!

Inside it was quite room with many folks and locals enjoying their meals.

We liked that they had a wide selection of mini desserts...

as well as macarons!    I'll take two please!

Our treats were enjoyed on their dining patio...

TC chose the drink that we shared, the "Love Juice" ($2.50). She was pretty embarassed by the title and didn't even want to order it by name, instead, calling it what it was, "the strawberry lemonade".

These mini desserts were so cute! The macs were $2 each while the eclair and mini fruit tart were $1.50 (wow!).

This tart was just so pretty and it tasted just as good as it looked.

The mini eclair was also enjoyed by all. This was Bert and TC's favorite of the four.

while the strawberry mac had an intensely fresh strawberry filling. It was one of the best strawberry macs I've ever had because of the quality ingredients.

Both of these were perfect bites of sweetness!

I wish we had a place like this down in Chula Vista!

The folks here in Escondido are very lucky!

Who else went here?

I didn't realize that Cathy from Mmm-Yoso went here until I did the search:
July 2012 - She and her husband had the savory items but no dessert that day.

It was great taking the time to enjoy and savor these light desserts before heading over to the exhibit...

Small world! Now we have to go back to try those macarons. I think I can do an entire post of photos of the macrons I've had since June 9...

Yes it is! I was thinking the same thing about all the macs we tried in June alone!

Aw, those little desserts look so cute! At first I thought the fruit tart was on a ritz cracker haha. I still have plans to visit Escondido just to go to Peterson's Donut place, so I'll have to keep this place in mind for an Escondido outing!
