but this wanna be chirashi sushi (made with that fake Krab stuff) still came out pretty damn good...
It's so easy, you don't really need a recipe but...
Here are the ingredients. Pay no attention to the shrimp in the middle. That ended up being used for another off the cuff (aka "lazy") lunch idea.

Here were a few things I picked up at Kyoto a few days ago so I could do this recipe...

Faye's recipe for Salmon Poke is what got me going, but instead of raw salmon, I used fake Krab. I chopped up a 1 lb; package of Krab, added mayo and Sriracha sauce. I also added in chopped cucumber, sweet multicolored peppers (I wanted to use up what was in the fridge), and then added the tobiko (tiny fish eggs).

While I was preparing the "filling", the brown rice was just about done cooking. I added a mix of rice vinegar and sugar to the rice, then laid the Krab filling on top. Earlier, I'd also made some eggs and sliced them really thin to lay on the top, along with furikake.

To make it more fun, I had TC cut up nori squares into fourths.

Then we proceeded to make our own little wraps. I didn't even bother "wrapping" or rolling mine, but ate it like a taco.

Next time, I'll be brave and use the raw salmon. Not pictured were the avocado halves which we scooped out bits and placed them in our wraps. These may not have looked "pretty" or sushi restaurant worthy, but it was a fun and easy meal to do in a pinch. No cooking involved really (just the rice and the eggs).

Oh I LOVES it!!! Looks so good with the Krab. Have you ever been to Nozomi? They have a deep fried mushroom that's topped w/ your version of the Spicy Krab! And Furikake - nice touch :)
hi faye - what are you doing reading blogs during your Taiwan trip? Get out there and eat some good food! haha!
Re: Nozomi - have not been there, although I once knew a student what that same name.
