It was our lucky night since we found parking right next to the restaurant. This was to be my friend's first foray into Ethiopian cuisine...
What better place to have an introduction than on Friday night at Harar where the buffet is $13.95!
As you enter, you will see the plates and injera laid out...

along with various chafing dishes full of delicious vegetarian wats (stews) such as collard greens (or was it chard?), eggplant, cabbage and potatoes, carrots and beans, red lentils, yellow lentils, and more. There were a few filled with chicken (doro), lamb (beg), and beef (siga) in fragrant sauces.

More info on the types of dishes here...

A not so pretty photo of my plate - various vegetable stews all around, plus the chicken leg, rice, and injera. I made the mistake of having the stews touch the injera, so it got a little too messy. I had to 'cheat' and use a fork at times. My favorite vegetable dishes were the eggplant and the carrots and beans. Not pictured was the spicy beef dish. I should have just eaten that for the night! My friend found some of the stews a bit spicy, but overall, she enjoyed the variety of dishes available with the buffet as well as the novelty of eating with her hands.

I'm so glad we went here...

Although I've been here many times in the past, here is one of the posts which highlights the buffet...
Two down, one more place to go...
