He tried sending it to me the last day before the Winter Break but I was out of the office that day since Bert and I took the day off to accompany TC's field trip to the Museum of Tolerance. Then in early January, one of his student aides tried to drop it off again but I was out of the office. The student refused to give it to my office mate next door who assured him she would give it to me...
Well, good things come to those who wait, right?

He gave me two boxes of chocolate. I forgot the first brand but they were Belgian chocolates that my co-workers and I polished off in a day and a half! This other box, the Jer's, I finally took home a few days ago. I wanted to save this for just us, especially since Bert really loves peanut butter desserts and candies. Jer's makes handmade chocolates and in this case, peanut butter balls covered with chocolate. It is also a local company, based in Solana Beach.

The different flavors have distinct designs on top (curly cue, "X", criss cross, and three lines). I liked how there were three types of chocolate. I'm not a fan of white chocolate so TC and Bert can have those. I had my eye on the dark chocolate pieces, heh heh.

Looks like part of the white "X" came off (lower left corner). Time to try one of these babies!

Here are a few assorted pieces before I sliced them up...

On the left - milk chocolate covered PB with pretzel pieces; on the right - milk chocolate covered PB with toffee pieces. We liked the crunch in both of these flavors. The pretzel had more "crunch" to them which I liked better than the toffee.

On the left - white chocolate covered "original crispy" PB ball. On the right - dark chocolate covered PB with a caramel center. Guess which Bert liked the best?

Overall, a good selection of flavors and textures!

We still have 2/3 of the box left. This was such a nice surprise from my friend. I wonder if his wife helped him pick this gift or if it was a generic gift that he gave everyone. In either case, I'm glad I was one of the lucky recipients!

Ooo, peanut butter chocolates! Sounds like something I would like, too. Local stuff always makes me happy. Gotta put it on the "to try" list!
