Pause...
Earlier today, TORC and I took out D for her belated birthday. MIA was KD who wasn't able to make it. Good thing it was early and a Sunday! Free street parking!

Although all of us had been here before for desserts, we'd never tried brunch here.
The Brunch is buffet style and is $18.95 per person.

I love the white dinnerware. So clean and minimalist. You can start off with housemade granola with bits of dried fruit. If you wish, you can top it off with yogurt (no thanks for me) and fresh cut strawberries.

Next up were toppers for your bread. I chose to make open faced sandwiches. Here, you have smoked salmon (cut quick thick!), rolled up slices of turkey, as well as sliced red onion, cucmber, and tomatoes.

Here's another view. It's a good thing we went early. Everything looked nice and fresh and organized instead of picked over!

The bowls held fresh pesto, fire roasted yellow tomatoes and caramelized onions and capers at the very end. The onions went really well with cranberry preserves and the sliced turkey!

The Cheese plate. Later on when I went back for seconds, they traded out the Mahon with a different Spanish cheese. I liked the brie and the Mahon (blue cheese = barf).

The breads were so good. One was sweeter with nuts and the other was plain. I didn't include the photos but there was a toaster near the bread (seen at the very edge) as well as several types of housemade jams (blueberry, plum preserves, ginger pear, cran raspberry and a few more I can't recall) along with whipped butter.

D's plate:

My plate - I didn't put yogurt on my granola and fruit. Loved the smoked salmon (cut so thick) and the Mahon cheese!

TORC's plate

I had the iced green tea while D had coffee and TORC had hot tea. My tea had a bit of a minty flavor to it. Tasted much better with sugar (rock crystal sugar pieces).

I loved the berry pick which had berries speared witha thin reed and topped with a rose petal.

Four types of petite desserts:

By this time, we were stuffed. I got one of each dessert for all of us to sample. Strawberry puff pastry, blueberry cake, blueberry scone, and some sort of bread pudding with a strawberry on top. My favorite was the blueberry cake!

The next birthday to celebrate is TORC's at the end of September! Can't wait to go out again with the GF's! Happy Belated Bday once again D! You're my favorite Principal!
D's previous birthday outings with the Educator GF's:
2010 (Pho Convoy Noodle House)
2009 (Royal India and Extraordinary Desserts) - where I saw a candy wrapper in the bathroom!
2008 (Ruth Chris's Steakhouse) - when I went solo with D
I couldn't find an entry for 2007 but I'm sure we went somewhere! O_o
2006 (Vagabond)

I've never been here for brunch either! The selection looks great. Now added to my to-do list!
Oo, I didn't know they had brunch here. It looks really good, too! I'll have to try it out sometime.
hi kirbie - you and your FH should go! i really liked the selection of fresh items and spreads. the desserts could have been better though but it's not like they're going to offer their fancy peta topped/gold leaf creations for the brunch.
hi mary - ooh yes, they do indeed. it's $18.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids 12 and under. i think you guys would like it.
I love the way everything looks, so simple, clean. And the food looks so good. I would have filled up on all that smoked salmon too.
