Tim Hortons was named after a famous Canadian hockey player who tragically died in an accident back in 1974. His shops were known for their coffee and donuts. C specifically asked us to try either their donuts and/or Timbits, which are like Donut Holes (from Dunkin Donuts). It is Canada's largest food service operator, surpassing even McDonalds! (See official website here)
We bought a box of 10 Timbits for $1.80; it was an assortment so Bert asked the server to choose whatever she wanted for us. Bert chose a maple glazed donut and I had the iced mocha drink.
Here are the Timbits...some of the flavors I liked like the Honey Dip, the plain glazed and the Sour cream glazed. There was a tang to that last flavor. The chocolate was a bit too cakey though.
Here's our bitten Timbits...gosh that sounds kind of nasty. I want to call them Tim's Bits.
Bits and pieces.
Where's Bert's coffee to go with his donut you wonder? Coming up next...

hi c - we weren't sure if we'd like them so we only got the box of 10. there was even a box of 20! i regret not trying one of their strawberry donuts. i was kind of sugared out that day.
We always go to Tim Hortons when we visit mom in Detroit- yep, they're located all around there also. The soup, chili and sandwiches are pretty good...with donuts and Timbits for 'dessert' and take home. Dad bought a pound of coffee beans every week for use at home.
